As students, faculty, staff, and community partners, you are an important part of Henry Madden Library’s future and we need your help as we develop our next strategic plan.
We’d appreciate it if you would take a few moments complete a brief survey to give us your best ideas and to help us focus our vision for the future. Survey responses will be confidential and the aggregated results will be provided to our planning committee to guide them in the development of our strategic plan. Whether you use the library often or not at all, we want to hear what would help students, faculty, and staff in the future.
There is also an opportunity to give feedback at an Open Forum via Zoom. If you’d like to share your thoughts on the library, what it does well and where it can improve, we welcome your input. These forums will be moderated by a non-library facilitator engaged to encourage open and honest feedback.
- Campus & Community Open Forum – March 24 at 2:30 p.m. [Registration] This forum welcomes students, faculty, staff, and anyone in our campus community.
In April, we will be conducting three focus group sessions. If you’d like to discuss the library’s future in more specifics, please consider signing up.
Thank you so much for your willingness to help us refine our vision and services to better serve Fresno State’s students, faculty, and community. If you have any questions about this survey or the study, please email Library Strategic Planning co-chair Karina Cardenas (email@example.com).
A Message from the Dean:
The Henry Madden Library now has the most exciting work before us. For decades, we have been an incubator for student learning, curiosity and discovery; our spaces and services are inclusive and accessible; our collections inspire and are sources of intellectual stimulation and they support research and our academic community. Our staff love what they do and are dedicated to the success of students.
We are ready to continue our tradition of excellence, and we invite you to join us as we shape the next decade of continued support, access, and resources to our students. We have launched our first strategic plan in the history of the Library and we invite you to join us in shaping the next decade of excellence and student success at our Library.
We are hosting open fora this spring for stakeholders — faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and the community — to participate in the Library’s strategic planning process.
Initial work on the plan began last fall and will continue through the spring semester in anticipation of a final plan before the end of the academic year.
We encourage you to join us for engaging sessions to learn more about what we have accomplished and our vision of the Henry Madden Library in the next decade. Broad participation in this process will allow us to create a vibrant and dynamic plan driven by collective goals and values and your voice!
-Del Hornbuckle, Dean of Library Services
