Henry Madden Library offers a variety of integral services to students for their degree, from research to media and technology services. But beyond the academics, the Library also features an excellent collection of popular reading for students, faculty and staff to check out at any time of the year. It’s particularly sought after during breaks for folks to enjoy some leisure reading.
The Popular Reading Collection was created to encourage browsing and discovery of recreational reading material. It is located on the first floor of the library near the north wing elevators and main staircase.
The collection includes recent fiction and non-fiction books, including award-winners and bestsellers, as well as some classics. You can search the Popular Reading Collection from OneSearch, our library catalog search tool.
Some of the most recent acquisitions include popular fiction from Stephen King and Nora Roberts, as well as acclaimed novels by Elif Shafak, Rivers Solomon, and Margaret Wilkerson Sexton. There are also a number of popular memoirs – including Michelle Obamas – and new non-fiction titles on politics, culture, and our love of dogs.
In addition to the popular reading section, there are also designated collections for mystery novels and graphics novels.
If you’re on campus during break, swing in and browse the selection!
